Team AIME gets two ANR projects funded this year !!!

Two new ANR projets coordinated by the AIME team were funded this year in the context of the AAPG2021 call.

The first one, entitled « Discovery and selection of novel defluorinases for bioremediation (MICROFLUOR) », is led by Stéphane VUILLEUMIER, with the team of Michaël RYCKELYNCK ("Digital Biology of RNA" team, IBMC, Strasbourg) as a partner. It aims to apply state-of-the-art microfluidics approaches for the discovery and selection of new enzymes for the degradation of recalcitrant polyfluoroalkylated substances (PFAS).

The second funded project « Cruising the marine halomethane cycle: Microbiology, biochemistry and geochemistry of reference bacteria, new microbial players and underlying processes (MAHABIO) », is a joint French-German project coordinated by Thierry NADALIG, with partners Agnès HIRSCHLER (Aix-Marseille University), Frank KEPPLER (University of Heidelberg) and Matthias Boll (University of Freiburg). It proposes an interdisciplinary approach to characterise bacterial diversity and processes associated with concomitant marine production and consumption of chloromethane, the most abundant halogenated compound in the atmosphere, and thereby contribute to better understand the global biogeochemical halogen cycle on our planet.
